Belmondo Pops Two Homers in 6-4 Win for El Paso
Behind the hitting of Gianpaolo Belmondo, the El Paso Thunderbirds defeated the Santo Domingo Palmchats, 6-4. Belmondo went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice for the Thunderbirds. Dae-il Kim, the winning pitcher, improved to 9-7. He pitched 8 innings, giving up 6 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 7 and walking 1. Timothy Adamczak finished to wrap up his 3rd save.

Belmondo had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a 2-1 fastball from Dositej Anastasijevic, he banged a 3-run home run to center, giving the Thunderbirds a 6-4 lead. It was the 30th home run of the year for Belmondo.

"It's always great to put the barrel on the ball and contribute," said Belmondo.

The Thunderbirds saw their win-loss record go to 53-45. At the same time, the Palmchats fell to 58-40.
