Thunderbirds Stay Hot, Beat Palmchats, 8-3
|
El Paso first baseman Bahupatu Ranjitsinhji contributed significantly to his team's 8-3 win over the Santo Domingo Palmchats. Ranjitsinhji, who finished 4th in the ABL in runs with 138 last year, went 4 for 4 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Thunderbirds. Oisín Raven got the win, improving to 3-3. He held the Palmchats to 3 runs on 6 hits over 7.1 innings, while striking out 7 and walking 4. This win makes it 7 in a row for El Paso.
Gianpaolo Belmondo, who is tied for 2nd in the ABL in total bases with 255, chipped in a run-scoring single for El Paso in the bottom of the seventh. For the game, the left fielder had 2 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 3 runs batted in.
