Meteors Get Clutch Win, 3-2
|
The Melbourne Meteors and Rome Generals played an exciting game.
In a low-scoring affair between the Melbourne Meteors and the Rome Generals, pitcher Kent Martin was the difference between victory and defeat. The Melbourne right-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 3-2 Meteors win. The win belonged to Wendel Lippelt in relief. His record improves to 3-2. Harvey Yeandle took the loss for Rome. Kalyanasarman Selvam earned the save, his 2nd in 4 tries.
Adalberto Reys had a direct impact on the outcome. Reys contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the ninth inning to put Melbourne up, 3-2.
Melbourne manager Bob Meteors commended his team for "doing what it takes to win."
The loss makes Rome 55-46.
