Detroit turned a good effort from starter Yoshinori Matsushita into a win over the Sao Paulo Toucans at Toucans Ballpark. The Blue Gills won the game, 4-2. Matsushita got the win, improving to 5-13. He gave up 3 hits and walked 6 over 6.2 innings. He allowed 2 runs. The victory puts Detroit at 40-62.

Detroit used a clutch at-bat from Jesús Aguilera to capture the win. The right fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Blue Gills ahead, 4-2. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
