Meany Pyne pitched a gem to lead Mexico City to victory over the Puerto Rico Coqui, 5-1. Pyne got the win, improving to 8-8. He gave up 7 hits and walked 3 over 6.2 innings. He allowed 1 run. The Aztecs saw their record improve to 58-44.
Mexico City used a clutch at-bat from Enrique Gallegos to capture the win. The first baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Aztecs ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Mexico City manager Square Drive.
