Fitzies Upend Foxes, 4-1
|
The Tokyo Fitzies faced a tough opponent in Black Forest pitcher Mariano Ochoa, but did just enough to pull out the victory at The Den by a final score of 4-1. Ochoa went 6 innings and allowed 2 runs. Luis Rey picked up the win, lifting his record to 8-7 on the season. He struck out 3 and walked 6 in 6 innings, while yielding 1 run. Tokyo has now won 3 straight, while the Foxes have lost 5 in a row.
Tokyo used the timely hitting of Arun Virinchi to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Fitzies on top, 4-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We took home the win," said Virinchi. "What's not to like?"
