The Beijing Emperors downed the Nairobi Black Rhinos, 4-1, at Rhinos Ballpark. Stellar pitching by Dharmendra Sarmad had a lot to do with it. The right-hander, who is tied for 3rd in the IBL with a 1.04 WHIP, handcuffed his opponent all game. Sarmad got the win, improving to 8-7. He gave up 3 hits and walked 1 over 6.1 innings. He allowed 1 run. Picking up the save was four-time All-Star Tom Davis.

Beijing relied on the hitting of Zahid Meghwar to pick up the win. The catcher ripped a run-scoring triple in the top of the fourth inning to put the Emperors on top, 2-0. For the game, Meghwar had 1 triple and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"The only difference is executing pitches and not executing pitches," said Sarmad. "When you don't execute, you get beat. When you execute, you usually give your team a chance to win."

The Emperors, at 59-45, lead by one game in their division.
