Win Goes to Fleur-de-Lis in Tight Contest
|
The rain made it unbearable at times; nonetheless, the faithful who endured the elements enjoyed themselves.
Cairo got a decent performance from pitcher Noah Tustain, but it wasn't enough to beat the Paris Fleur-de-Lis. Paris won the Stade de France contest, 7-3. Tustain threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. Paris reliever Nasser Moreau snagged the win, upping his record to 6-6. Haddis Sahnine shouldered the loss. Massin Ajayi, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 20th save.
Paris took a 4-3 lead on Karim Garcia's 2nd double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Garcia hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Cairo pitcher Haddis Sahnine visibly frustrated.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Garcia said.
The third-place Fleur-de-Lis are 46-59.
