Sao Paulo Beats Mexico City, 5-3
|
The Mexico City Aztecs could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Christian Perron into a win. Instead, the Sao Paulo Toucans prevailed, 5-3. Perron threw 6.0 innings of 3-hit ball. The Toucans, at 58-48, sit in third place in the Americas Baseball League Latin American Division.
Sao Paulo took the lead, 5-3, on Abraha Saqr's 27th home run of the season. The 2-run home run came off Mexico City pitcher Karl-Anthony Carpio in the bottom of the eighth.
Saqr called the win "a team effort."
