Aztecs Squelch Jaguars Offense in Shutout Win
|
Mexico City turned a fine outing from starter Christian Perron into a victory over the Rio de Janeiro Jaguars at Rio de Janeiro Grounds. The final score was 5-0. Hayato Tsuchida closed out the game, earning his 20th save. The Aztecs, now 63-46, have won 5 in a row.
Mexico City used a well-timed hit by Enrique Gallegos to capture the win. The first baseman socked a bases-clearing double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Aztecs ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"We did a lot of good things tonight," said Mexico City manager Square Drive.
