Starting pitcher Anuhlada Phadkar pitched well enough to help the Tokyo Fitzies beat the Beijing Emperors, 4-3. Phadkar, now 5-12, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 0, walking 3, and allowing 3 runs. Tokyo, at 51-58, holds down last place in the Intercontinental Baseball League Asian Division.
The Fitzies got a big at-bat from left fielder Arun Virinchi. For the game, Virinchi was 1 for 3 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 20th home run of the season gave Tokyo a 2-1 lead.
