Beijing Triumphs with Late Surge
|
Beijing took on Tokyo in front of a lively crowd.
Beijing center fielder Njoroge Sarahani was a significant contributor in his team's 6-1 triumph over the Tokyo Fitzies. He went 3 for 5 with 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Emperors. Today's win puts Beijing at 63-47, while Tokyo falls to 51-59.
Beijing used the timely hitting of Josh Bence to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Emperors on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
Said losing manager Meeks 17: "The at-bats, obviously, needed to be better."
