Monks Rally to Eke Out Win
The Daegu Monks beat the Melbourne Meteors, 3-2, in part because of center fielder Philippe Mollet. He was 2-4 with 2 home runs and 2 walks. Jamal Kirinyaga picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 6-5. Kalyanasarman Selvam was tagged with the loss. Baltasar Alua closed the door for Daegu, picking up his 1st save of the year.

Mollet had a game-changing home run in the top of the 13th. On a 0-1 curveball from Kalyanasarman Selvam, he banged a solo home run to right, giving the Monks a 3-2 lead. It was the 24th home run of the year for Mollet.

"There's no quit in this team," said Monks manager R Beadle.

Daegu goes to 61-50, Melbourne to 51-60.
