The Detroit Blue Gills picked up a win at Tokyo Ballpark, knocking off the El Paso Thunderbirds, 3-2. On the mound for Detroit was right-hander Leo Morris. He played a key role in the triumph. With the win, Detroit goes to 43-69, while the Thunderbirds fall to 71-41.

The Blue Gills got a big at-bat from center fielder Mike Price. For the game, Price was 1-4 with a double and a walk. He drove in 3 runs. In the bottom of the sixth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing double. His 24th double of the season gave Detroit a 3-2 lead.

"Leo mixed and matched," said Detroit manager C Schu.
