The Tokyo Fitzies dealt the Melbourne Meteors a 6-2 loss at Gitche Gumee Stadium. Arun Virinchi, who finished 4th in the IBL in home runs with 33 last year, was the star on offense. He went 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 3 times. The Fitzies raised their record to 41-71.

Pengel Loewe had a big 2-run double for the Fitzies in the bottom of the second inning. With Tokyo leading 3-2 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a changeup from 38-year old right-handed pitcher Kyle Miller and swatted a double to right. It was his 18th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Fitzies ahead, 5-2.

"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Loewe said after the game.
