The El Paso Thunderbirds used an offensive barrage to beat the Detroit Blue Gills, 10-1, at Tokyo Ballpark. Ari Lueger led the way, going 4-for-4 for El Paso. At 72-41, the Thunderbirds find themselves in second place in the Americas Baseball League North American Division.

Early in the game, pitcher Tien Dung Long had a 2-run home run for El Paso. It was his 24th home run of the season and put the Thunderbirds on top, 2-0.

"I had my mind made up to go the distance," said Long.
