The Detroit Blue Gills had their hands full with Los Angeles Stars starter Maximino Trapa, who frustrated Detroit hitters while leading Los Angeles to a comfortable, 6-1 win. Los Angeles used the timely hitting of Egil Lorentzen to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Stars on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
