The Detroit Blue Gills defeated the Los Angeles Stars, 6-4, at Field of the Stars. Jesús Aguilera, who is tied for 3rd in the ABL in doubles with 34, was a standout performer for Detroit. His 3 hits included 2 singles and 1 double -- this in addition to the 2 runs he scored and 2 he knocked in. Ragnar Arnfeldt claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. His record stands at 3-0. The win puts the Blue Gills at 47-73, while the Stars drop to 58-62.
Detroit used the timely hitting of Roderyk Komorowski to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Blue Gills on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said Los Angeles manager Andy Hustle. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."
