Emperors Win with Late Rally
Extra innings were needed to determine a winner at Monks Stadium.

The Beijing Emperors faced a tough opponent in Daegu pitcher Alonso Soto, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Monks Stadium by a final score of 5-4. Soto went 6.2 innings and allowed 2 runs. Tom Davis picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-1. Luis Ruíz was tagged with the loss. The save was credited to Jasa Bogdanovic, his 1st.

Beijing used a timely hit from Geunhye Pang to get the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the 11th inning to put the Emperors ahead, 5-4. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.

"We battled our tails off to get this win," said Beijing manager Kev In.

The first-place Emperors now have a record of 25-14.
