Aztecs Lose to Stars, 6-1
|
The Los Angeles Stars topped the Mexico City Aztecs, 6-1, in Americas Baseball League action at Field of the Stars. The standout performance belonged to Los Angeles pitcher and Shanghai, China, native Yoo-ngan Xing. In 6 innings, Xing surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 3. He allowed 1 run. The Stars are now 56-67, while the Aztecs fall to 46-77.
The Stars got a lift from center fielder Juan Cardenas, who in the bottom of the fifth hit a 2-run double. His 21st double of the season put the Stars on top, 4-1.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Xing said after the game.
