Beijing Slaps 5-2 Loss on Generals
|
The Beijing Emperors converted a terrific effort from starter Yoshifusa Hasegawa into a win over the Rome Generals at The Colosseum. The Emperors won the game by a final score of 5-2. The winner was Hasegawa. He threw 8.0 innings of 6-hit ball. The loser was Gonzalo Valdés. Tom Davis earned the save for Beijing, his 35th of the year.
Beijing used the hitting of Josh Bence to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Emperors on top, 2-1. For the game, Bence had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Yoshifusa is a tough competitor," said Beijing manager Kev In.
The second-place Emperors now have a record of 69-55.
