Emperors Lose to Meteors in Walk-Off
In a low-scoring contest between the Melbourne Meteors and the Beijing Emperors, Gia-Long Hoang, who is tied for 4th in the IBL with a 7.5 K/9 rate, proved to be the difference. The Melbourne right-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-2 Meteors win. The second-place Meteors bumped their record to 72-53.

The decisive blow was delivered by Wes Robinson in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a run-scoring double off 31-year old left-handed pitcher José Torres to win the game for Melbourne. The home crowd went nuts.

"We busted our tails," said Beijing manager Kev In. "But we came up short."
