Monks Sunk by Fitzies
|
Though he had a stellar game, Philippe Mollet could not prevent his team, the Daegu Monks, from losing, 7-6, to the Tokyo Fitzies. Mollet was 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Onfrio Moro earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2.2 innings. His record is now 3-0. The last-place Fitzies improved to 54-71.
Tokyo relied on the bat of Girma Nanji to get the win. The left fielder ripped a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Fitzies ahead, 6-5. For the game, Nanji had 1 double and 1 triple in 5 at-bats.
Nanji told a Tokyo Herald reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
