Kermani Leads Blue Gills to 12-11 Win Over Thunderbirds
The Detroit Blue Gills beat the El Paso Thunderbirds in a game in which both teams scored early and often. The final score was 12-11, Blue Gills. One of the hitting stars was first baseman Rana Kermani. Kermani, who is tied for 9th in the ABL in doubles with 30, went 4 for 5 with 2 doubles and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Mahdi bin Harith earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2.2 innings. He upped his record to 5-2. Ragnar Arnfeldt earned his 23rd save, after closing out the game.

In the top of the eighth, the Blue Gills grabbed the lead when Kermani hit his 30th double of the season. The 2-run double off Ben Middleton made it 12-10, Detroit.

"Winning is hard sometimes," said Blue Gills manager C Schu. "This one was nice to get."

The 4th-place Blue Gills are now 49-77, the Thunderbirds 81-45.
