Mexico City right fielder Gualter Bonito had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Bonito was 2 for 3 with a triple and 2 walks, while scoring 3 and driving in 2, even as El Paso beat the Aztecs, 8-7, in 10 innings. El Paso is in first place in the Americas Baseball League North American Division with a record of 82-45.

The Thunderbirds got a clutch hit from pinch hitter Fawwaz bin Jalal. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Thunderbirds.

"That was your kind of game, if you like high drama," said Thunderbirds manager AP MP.
