The Mexico City Aztecs beat the Los Angeles Stars, 7-6, with major props going to third baseman Zhao-ji Zheng. On the day, Zheng was 3 for 4 with 3 doubles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Aztecs. The winner was Mexico City reliever Kunz Kulhberg, now 4-0. The loser was Su-shun Guang. Hayato Tsuchida earned his 35th save, after closing out the game.

The game was at a stalemate until right fielder Ángel Santos came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Los Angeles pitcher Su-shun Guang, he hit a first pitch forkball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Mexico City on top, 7-6.

Said losing manager Alex G: "'I liked the effort, just not the results."

The Aztecs are now 78-49, while the Stars fall to 55-72.
