Fitzies Pin 3-2 Loss on Melbourne
|
Wendel Lippelt, who is tied for 8th in the IBL in strikeouts with 138, propelled his team to victory over the Melbourne Meteors. The final score was 3-2, Tokyo. Lippelt picked up the win for Tokyo, going 8 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 8-17. At 56-71, the Fitzies are currently last in the Intercontinental Baseball League Asian Division.
Yulian Basatin went 1 for 2, while adding 2 RBI for Tokyo. The 26-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Matous Spurck. It was his 22nd RBI of the season.
