Fitzies Sunk by Monks
|
Daegu right-hander Jamal Kirinyaga pitched his team to victory over the Tokyo Fitzies at Monks Stadium. The final score was 6-3. The winner was Kirinyaga. He threw 5.2 innings of 4-hit ball. The loser was Guo-feng Lee. With the victory, the Monks upped their record to 74-55.
Philippe Mollet had a big 2-run double for the Monks in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Daegu leading 3-2 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from Guo-feng Lee and swatted a double to center. It was his 22nd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Monks ahead, 5-2.
"For the most part, I made good pitches when I needed to," said Kirinyaga.
