The Los Angeles Stars polished off the El Paso Thunderbirds by the score of 6-3. The largest share of the credit belonged to third baseman Liangde Song. Song went 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Stars. Sebastian Sporsheim earned the save, his 19th. With the win, the Stars are 39-91.
Gabir Tareen had a big solo home run for the Stars in the bottom of the third inning. With Los Angeles leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he sized up a fastball from Jin-u Kim, who finished 5th in the ABL in strikeouts with 187 last year, and punished it. The result was his 9th home run of the season, which put the Stars on top, 2-0.
"I like the vibe in the clubhouse after a win," said Tareen. "It sure beats the alternative."
