Mexico City Aztecs starter Christian Perron turned in a sparkling performance against the Chicago Beefs, leading his team to a 2-1 win. Moos van der Woerdt closed the door for Mexico City, picking up his 5th save of the year. Chicago, at 76-56, has lost 6 straight.
The Aztecs got a big at-bat from shortstop George Robinson. For the game, Robinson was 2 for 3 with a double and a walk, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 6th double of the season gave Mexico City a 2-1 lead.
"That's baseball," said Chicago manager Mikes L. Son. "You're not always going to be hitting on all cylinders."
