With right fielder Kyle Middleton leading the charge, the El Paso Thunderbirds defeated the Havana Dolphins, 8-3, at El Estadio Latinoamericano. Middleton, who finished 5th in the ABL in extra base hits with 81 last year, hit 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. At 76-58, the Thunderbirds are currently first in the Americas Baseball League North American Division.

With El Paso leading 2-0 in the top of the second, Middleton hit a cutter from Cisco Sandoval for a 3-run home run. It was his 39th home run of the season and put the Thunderbirds ahead, 5-0.

In postgame comments to the El Paso Citizen, Middleton said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
