5-Hit Barrage by Andersen
Even as a kid, Erik Andersen said his coaches told him the key to hitting was making contact, and letting everything else flow from there. At The Colosseum, Andersen showed how well he learned that lesson.

The 27-year-old first baseman had 5 hits in 5 at-bats for the Tokyo Fitzies, helping his team knock off the Rome Generals by a score of 10-9.

"They always said, just keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing, make contact and you never know what will happen," he said. "That's all I did."

Erik Andersen hit a solo-shot off Naomi Matsunaga in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and doubled in the 9th.

This year, Andersen has socked 147 hits in 441 at-bats for a .333 average with 17 home runs. He is getting on base at a .406 pace and his totals also include 72 RBIs and 74 runs scored.
