Virinchi Drills 2 Homers in 8-3 Tokyo Win
|
At Gitche Gumee Stadium, the Nairobi Black Rhinos and Tokyo Fitzies were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.
The Tokyo Fitzies beat the Nairobi Black Rhinos, 8-3, at Gitche Gumee Stadium. Arun Virinchi went 3 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. The 24-year old right fielder was a menace to Nairobi all day. The Fitzies sport a record of 48-88.
Virinchi contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Tokyo in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 3-2, Virinchi took a fastball from Branko Kuchek and stroked the home run to right-center. His 29th home run of the season allowed the Fitzies to leap in front, 5-3.
"We did more than enough to get the win," said Virinchi.
