Toucans Stay Hot with Extra-Inning Win
The Sao Paulo Toucans defeated the Chicago Beefs, 9-7, in 13 innings. Rubén Ramos led the way, going 4-for-6 for Sao Paulo. The win was credited to 30-year old right-handed pitcher Asir Qutaybah in relief. His record improves to 10-1. Joseph Fiorentino took the loss. In-chul Chong finished the game for Sao Paulo and earned his 1st save.

Sao Paulo used the timely hitting of Akshey Phalgun to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 13th inning to put the Toucans on top, 7-6. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"I know everybody in here is putting in the work," said Chicago manager Mikes L. Son. "It's just not paying off."

The Beefs, now 60-78, have lost 7 straight.
