Black Forest Edges Tokyo, 1-0, Ochoa Ks 9
|
Mariano Ochoa, who finished 5th in the IBL in wins with 15 in 2148, was locked in. The right-hander led the Black Forest Foxes to a 1-0 win against the Tokyo Fitzies at The Den. Bob Aguilar finished the game for Black Forest and earned his 8th save. The Foxes, at 54-86, sit in last place in the Intercontinental Baseball League Afro-European Division.
Ochoa, who dominated for Black Forest, earned the victory to move to 13-11. He was in control the whole game, scattering 8 hits over 8 innings, while striking out 9. Tokyo batters could never bunch up enough hits to produce a rally.
"I had one goal in mind," said Ochoa. "Keep pounding the zone."
