The Nairobi Black Rhinos locked up a win at Rhinos Ballpark, knocking off the Beijing Emperors, 5-3. On the mound for Nairobi was left-hander Noah Tustain. He played a major role in the triumph. Gerardo Mendoza nailed down his 24th save. Nairobi is now 67-74, Beijing 78-63.
David Grillo had a big 2-run triple for the Black Rhinos in the bottom of the second inning. With Nairobi leading 2-1 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a fastball from Izaac Kulovana, who finished 3rd in the ABL in wins with 17 in 2144, and swatted a triple to left-center. It was his 8th triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Black Rhinos ahead, 4-1.
"We did a lot of really good things and it was a good win," said Black Rhinos manager J Stell.
