The Mexico City Aztecs knocked off the Los Angeles Stars, 9-6, at Field of the Stars. It took 10 innings. Alfonso Alfaro was a prime reason Mexico City won. The first baseman was 4-5 with 2 doubles, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 4 times. Tyler Tolmie earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. He upped his record to 1-0. Hayato Tsuchida finished the game for Mexico City and earned his 38th save.

The game was all tied up in the top of the tenth, until Alfaro delivered big-time for Mexico City, stroking a dramatic run-scoring double off Su-shun Guang. The game-changing hit put the Aztecs on top, 7-6.

"There's no victory at bargain basement prices," Alfaro told a reporter after the game.

With the win, the Aztecs improved to 86-57.
