Generals Beat Falcons, 6-3
|
A good performance from right fielder Badal Unmesh helped the Rome Generals defeat the Karachi Falcons, 6-3. Unmesh was 2 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Generals. Husain bin Sariyah earned the win to go to 3-6. He allowed 3 runs on 6 hits, with 3 walks and 3 strikeouts in 6 innings of work. Picking up the save was Preki Cvetkovic, his 6th.
Ismael Esparza, who is tied for 9th in the IBL in bases on balls with 72, helped out the Rome cause in the top of the fifth inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the third baseman was 2-4 with 2 doubles. He scored 2 runs.
"We didn't play well enough to win," said Karachi skipper Slu Baseball.
The second-place Generals go to 73-70.
