Beijing Wins, Sarahani goes 3-for-3
|
The home crowd came to cheer on their first-place Beijing Emperors.
The Beijing Emperors topped the Melbourne Meteors, 6-1, with center fielder Njoroge Sarahani playing a big role. Sarahani went 3-3 with a home run, a triple, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for the Emperors in the win. Beijing, now 84-59, holds down first place in the Intercontinental Baseball League Asian Division.
Beijing grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the fifth, when Sarahani hit a 2-run triple off Gia-Long Hoang. His 3rd triple of the season put the Emperors out in front, 3-1.
"First place," said Emperors manager Kev In. "This is right where we want to be."
