The Tokyo Fitzies picked up a win at Fitzies Stadium, taking down the Daegu Monks, 3-2. Starting pitcher Rino Kathirithamby was a big reason why. Kathirithamby picked up the win for Tokyo, going 8 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 4-4. Nokrashy Kumbufu closed the game out for Tokyo, earning his 1st save.
Girma Nanji, who finished 4th in the IBL in triples with 14 last year, chipped in a 2-run home run for Tokyo in the bottom of the eighth. For the game, the left fielder had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI.
"The Fitzies earned it," said Daegu manager R Beadle. "Hats off to them."
