Big Day for Belmondo in 8-6 Thunderbirds Win
The El Paso Thunderbirds defeated the Los Angeles Stars by the score of 8-6, with the biggest share of the credit going to left fielder Gianpaolo Belmondo. Belmondo slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice for the Thunderbirds on the day. Dae-il Kim earned the win, while 26-year old right-handed pitcher Daniel Tejano took the loss for Los Angeles. The triumph puts El Paso at 81-64 for the season.

In the first inning, Belmondo had a run-scoring triple for El Paso. It was his 7th triple of the season and put the Thunderbirds on top, 1-0.

"I put some good swings on the ball tonight," said Belmondo.
