Shih-k'ai Tseng, who finished 5th in the ABL in ERA with 3.41 in 2147, propelled his team to victory over the Mexico City Aztecs. The final score was 4-1, Chicago. Tseng got the win, improving to 12-8. He gave up 6 hits and walked 2 over 8 innings. He allowed 1 run. Kwan-yew Lei notched his 29th save in 34 chances.

Bernard Salle had a big 2-run double for the Beefs in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Chicago leading 1-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a curveball from Christian Perron, who finished 4th in the ABL in strikeouts with 191 last year, and swatted a double to left. It was his 30th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Beefs ahead, 3-0.

Salle told a Chicago Times reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.

The victory gives Chicago a record of 85-60.
