Stars 3-1 Winners Over Havana
|
Los Angeles picked up a win at Field of the Stars, bumping off the Havana Dolphins, 3-1. Pitcher Roger Oldford was a major reason the Stars emerged victorious. Oldford, now 13-11, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 5, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. Clodio Castanhedo closed the door for Los Angeles, picking up his 33rd save of the year.
Velimir Aleksic, the Los Angeles center fielder, contributed a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fifth inning to make the score 2-1, Stars. For the game, Aleksic went 1-3 with a walk.
"Not to be Captain Obvious," said Havana manager Dan Farnell, "but we need to push more runs across the plate."
