Emperors Post 6-3 Win
|
Njoroge Sarahani led Beijing to a win over Daegu. The final score was 6-3. The Bauchi, Nigeria native collected 2 extra-base hits, including 1 home run and 1 double. Bao-tian Li picked up the win, improving his season record to 13-9. He struck out 7 in 6 innings. Tom Davis, who finished 2nd in the IBL in saves with 39 in 2146, nailed down the save.
Sarahani had a game-changing home run in the top of the seventh. On a 0-1 fastball from Cornélio Tender, he banged a 2-run home run to right-center, giving the Emperors a 4-3 lead. It was the 21st home run of the year for Sarahani.
Beijing manager Kev In praised his team's "no BS approach."
The first-place Emperors, at 89-60, now lead their division by 5½ games.
