Beijing Defeats Tokyo, 7-3
|
The rain did not keep Beijing and Tokyo from finishing their game.
The performance of Josh Bence proved critical in helping Beijing beat Tokyo, 7-3. The Emperors left fielder was 3 for 4 with 2 doubles and a walk. He scored 2 runs. Beijing reliever Suezo Watanabe picked up the win to move to 3-2. Arturo Martínez suffered the loss.
Matthew Ross had a clutch at-bat with one out in the top of the sixth for the Emperors. Coming up with runners on 2nd and 3rd and Beijing trailing 2-1, he hit a 2-run single.
"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Bence told the Beijing Daily News.
The Fitzies, now 60-90, have lost 4 straight.
