Generals Deal Pharaohs 4-1 Setback
|
Starting pitcher Shih-k'ai Tseng had a solid game. He was a big reason the Rome Generals throttled the Cairo Pharaohs, 4-1. Preki Cvetkovic earned the save, his 7th, for the Generals. Rome's record now stands at 75-76, placing them second in the Intercontinental Baseball League Afro-European Division.
The Generals got a big at-bat from catcher Abdul Karim Sarbans. For the game, Sarbans was 1-3 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 9th home run of the season gave Rome a 2-1 lead.
Tseng called the win "good for the psyche of this team."
