Pharaohs Rally to Win
|
The Cairo Pharaohs overcame a pretty good performance by Rome first baseman Sami Muroki, beating the Generals, 7-4, in 13 innings. Muroki was 2-4 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Cairo reliever Pang Chang snagged the win, upping his record to 5-8. Naomi Matsunaga shouldered the loss. The Pharaohs saw their win-loss record go to 67-86. At the same time, the Generals fell to 75-78.
Nakula Sukarno came through with a big-time hit for Cairo. The right fielder smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the 13th inning to give his team the lead, 7-4. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"I'll play 10 innings, I'll play 20," said Pharaohs manager J Stell. "Whatever it takes to win the ballgame."
