Coqui Win, Boston scores 3 runs
|
The Puerto Rico Coqui defeated the Los Angeles Stars by the score of 7-3, with the biggest share of the credit going to third baseman Bruno Boston. Boston was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks, while scoring 3 and driving in 3 for the Coqui on the day. Shang-de Kan got the win, improving to 9-11. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 3 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 3 and walking 1. Puerto Rico now sits at 55-100, while Los Angeles falls to 48-107.
Boston had a game-changing home run in the top of the seventh. On a 2-2 changeup from Jesús Viña, he banged a 3-run home run to left-center, giving the Coqui a 5-2 lead. It was the 13th home run of the year for Boston.
