|
Mexico City parlayed a decent outing from starter Jorge Garza into a solid win over the El Paso Thunderbirds. The final score was 5-4. Picking up the save was four-time All-Star Hayato Tsuchida. The loss makes El Paso 90-65.
Alfonso Alfaro, who finished 3rd in the ABL in stolen bases with 60 in 2148, contributed to the Mexico City win with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the first baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI.
"Jorge did a really nice job of taking the ball and giving us a chance to win the game," said Mexico City manager Square Drive.
