The Melbourne Meteors handed the Karachi Falcons a 6-3 defeat at Meteor Crater. Left Fielder Edgardo Román starred for Melbourne. He was 3 for 4 with 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Max Schmalzl picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 9-8. Adrian Dean suffered the loss. Wendel Lippelt sewed up the save, his 10th.

Had Yohann Schneider not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Schneider hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Meteors.

"I really like what we did out there today," Román said after the game.

Today's win puts Melbourne at 69-86, while Karachi falls to 91-64.
