Foxes Squelch Meteors Offense in Shutout Win
|
The Black Forest Foxes, behind a great outing from António Colón defeated the Melbourne Meteors, 3-0, at The Den. In 5.2 innings, Colón surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 5. He allowed no runs. Casey O'Finan was called on to finish, recording his 5th save.
In the bottom of the third, fan favorite Abdul Salam Durrani hit a 3-run home run. The 34th home run of the season for the Black Forest left fielder put the Foxes on top, 3-0.
"Makes our job easier," said Durrani, "when our pitchers shut the opposition down."
The Foxes now have a record of 76-80.
