Generals Do In Fleur-de-Lis, 5-2
|
Rome pitcher Shih-k'ai Tseng had a large part in his team subduing the Paris Fleur-de-Lis, 5-2. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the left-hander. Preki Cvetkovic sewed up the save, his 8th. With this game in the books, Rome is 77-79, Paris 66-90.
Alexandria, Egypt-born Haroun Sulaiman came through in the clutch. In the bottom of the seventh, with the bases loaded and the Generals trailing 1-0, he hit a 2-run single to right to put Rome on top.
"Shih-k'ai did a nice job," said Generals manager Tx Horns.
